Uber Transportation

Consumer Growth Lead (Seasonal Moments, Key Value Campaigns & Trade Planning)

Sydney, Australia In person Full-time

About the role and team

Uber Eats has moved beyond just delivering food, now operating across all major retail categories alongside our core restaurant food delivery business. Given this we now have a huge array of seasonal moments — Black Friday, Holidays, New Year, back-to-school, summer — and key value campaigns that run across Restaurants, Grocery & Retail, and increasingly across paid placements our Ads business is selling to merchants and brands.

The Consumer Growth Lead (Seasonal Moments, Key Value Campaigns & Trade Planning) owns one trade plan, one activation calendar, and one consumer experience across One Delivery — and runs each major moment end-to-end, from commercial envelope through to post-campaign read-out.

What you’ll do

  • (1) End-to-end ownership of major seasonal moments and key value campaigns
  • Own the execution of our headline value moments
  • Run the cross-functional forums for each moment. You are the single accountable owner that Commercial, Brand, CRM, Ads, Product, Ops and Finance all plan with.
  • Set the offer architecture for each moment — what the consumer-facing value proposition is, who funds it, how it is capped, and how it ladders to the campaign promise.
  • (2) Ownership of the trade plan and the annual activation calendar
  • Own and publish the single source of truth trade calendar — the full-year view of moments, campaigns, promo activations, merchant events and Ads inventory, with clear ownership, funding, channel support and in-app placement per activation.
  • Run the planning cadence that keeps it live: an annual/half-yearly trade planning cycle, a quarterly lock and a monthly re-forecast
  • Enforce calendar discipline: protect against cannibalisation and collision (two competing value messages in the same week), guard the commercial envelope, and hold the line on cut-off dates so creative, CRM, Ads and Ops can execute without fire-drills.
  • Own the forward-looking trade narrative for leadership: what we are trading on, what we expect it to deliver, what the risks are, and what we are doing differently vs. last year.
  • (3) A seamless One Delivery consumer experience
  • Make One Delivery real for the consumer during moments: one coherent value message, consistent entry points, and merchandising that moves a user from Restaurants into Grocery & Retail (and back) rather than treating them as two apps in a trench coat.
  • Partner with Grocery & Retail and Restaurants Commercial & Ops teams to build combined line-ups — cross-LOB bundles, category moments, and basket-building constructs that only work when both sides plan together.
  • Work with Product and Ops on the surfaces: homefeed placement, carousels, hub pages, search merchandising, notification and CRM sequencing — ensuring the campaign is executed in-app with the same quality it has in the deck.
  • Set and police the consumer-experience bar: no dead links, no out-of-stock hero items, no offer that fails at checkout, no expired creative. You own the pre-launch QA gate.
  • (4) Team leadership
  • Set clear ownership so each moment has one named driver, and coach your team to run senior cross-functional forums themselves rather than routing everything through you.
  • Build the operating system — templates, briefs, QA checklists, read-out formats — so campaign quality is repeatable and not personality-dependent.
  • Manage load across a calendar that is inherently peaky. Protect the team through Q4 and build recovery into the plan.

Basic Qualifications

  • Significant experience in consumer growth, growth marketing, trade/commercial planning, or campaign management in a high-velocity consumer business — marketplace, e-commerce, retail, grocery, QSR or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated end-to-end ownership of large consumer campaigns, including the commercial case, not just the creative or channel execution.
  • Experience owning a trading or activation calendar across multiple categories or business lines.
  • People management experience — you have built, coached and retained a small team.
  • Strong analytical foundation: comfortable building a campaign forecast, reading an incrementality result, and challenging an attribution claim.
  • SQL or equivalent self-serve data skill is a strong plus.
  • Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders across functions you don't control.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working across both restaurant/food delivery and grocery/retail, or an equivalent multi-category environment.
  • Exposure to retail media / commerce media / sponsored placements, and the tension between monetisation and consumer experience.
  • Experience with merchant-funded or co-funded promotional mechanics and the negotiation that sits behind them
  • Track record of building process where none existed — planning cadences, briefing standards, governance — and getting other teams to adopt it.
