The proposed Head of Advisor Onboarding & Transition Management is a net new role created to build and lead a centralized onboarding and transition capability across the Wealth platform. The purpose of the role is to support organic and inorganic growth by delivering a seamless, high-touch onboarding experience for newly recruited advisors, their support teams, and their HNW/UHNW clients, while coordinating end-to-end execution across business, operations, technology, compliance, risk, legal, product, and client service partners.
This role has already been designed as a re-imagined, scalable solution to replace fragmented transition ownership with centralized accountability, governance, and execution discipline. While AI and automation may support workflow management, reporting, and process efficiency, they will not replace the need for an experienced leader who can manage complex transitions, influence stakeholders, mitigate risk, and protect the advisor and client experience. Internal mobility should be considered, but the pool of candidates with the necessary combination of transition, program management, and Wealth expertise may be limited. This is not a role for early career talent.
The role has meaningful control, regulatory, and revenue significance because advisor onboarding and book transitions affect client relationships, compliance processes, operational execution, and speed to productivity. Strong execution in this role supports advisor retention, client retention, book conversion success, and recruiting outcomes, while reducing the risk of transition failures and reputational harm. Approval is recommended because this net new role establishes a critical capability required to support growth, scale, and a more effective future-state Wealth operating model.
