POSITION OVERVIEW
The Project Manager is responsible for managing complex Engineer-to-Order (ETO) projects across Power and IT System Business Units, from order entry through design definition, production, and site handover. Where new or unreleased products are part of the ETO scope, NPDI projects are owned and led by the assigned NPDI Project Manager; this role works closely with them, supporting design freeze, risk anticipation, and cross-functional coordination across product lines, factories, and third-party partners.
Complex ETO projects are a subcategory within the NPDI framework — they follow a similar phase-gate discipline but are triggered by a specific customer order requiring custom engineering rather than a strategic product roadmap decision. While the assigned NPDI Project Manager owns the phase-gate process and product development lifecycle, this role owns the complex ETO order execution — driving design definition, production readiness, and delivery to the customer within the NPDI governance structure.
This role serves as the integrating project manager across product lines, factories, and partners, filling the gaps between them. The focus is on early-stage order processing — anticipating risks, fixing the schedule, and ensuring the right information is exchanged in time so issues surface before equipment reaches site. The role operates in a multinational, multi-project environment, and reports within the Project Management team.

- Products still in NPDI, quoted or ordered before release and mass production

- Architecture requiring site controls or power metering software
