Job Purpose

The Senior Sales Business Analyst serves as the business unit lead for sales planning, pursuit and bookings governance, sales-process administration, and CRM support. The role coordinates cross-functional planning and review activities, maintains accurate and auditable sales information, and provides reporting and analytical support to Sales leadership.

The position works closely with Sales, Finance, regional and plant leadership, account teams, and Global Governance Board (GGB) stakeholders to ensure planning assumptions, pursuit status, approvals, and supporting documentation are complete, current, and aligned.

Key Responsibilities

  • Long Range Planning (LRP) and Forecast Coordination
  • Lead the business unit LRP process, including planning calendars, working sessions, stakeholder reviews, and freeze/snapshot activities.
  • Coordinate and validate five- and ten-year outlooks covering volumes, pricing, risks, opportunities, and other commercial assumptions.
  • Partner with Finance to reconcile SIMS (BorgWarner's CRM tool) and financial reporting data, resolve gaps, communicate deadlines, and escalate risks affecting plan quality or timing.
  • SIMS Business Support and Data Governance
  • Serve as the business unit SIMS subject-matter expert and primary contact for user support, process questions, system changes, and enhancements.
  • Train users and represent business needs through requirements definition, testing, rollout, adoption, and guidance on reports, workflows, and data requirements.
  • Audit data quality and compliance, coordinate issue resolution, and provide leadership reporting and analysis across sales, forecasts, pricing, pursuits, and bookings.
  • Pursuit Management and Bookings Governance
  • Manage the business unit pursuit and bookings process in SIMS, including wins-and-losses reporting, pipeline status, forecasts, and performance against annual targets.
  • Ensure targets, results, sourcing dates, pursuit status, assumptions, booking evidence, and supporting documentation are accurate, complete, and consistently maintained.
  • Audit process compliance, resolve deficiencies with account teams, and provide leadership visibility to attainment, win/loss trends, major opportunities, delays, and risks.
  • Quote Approval Process Administration and Governance
  • Organize and schedule resource and quote approval reviews with regional leadership, coordinating presenters, stakeholders, approval authority, and review cadence.
  • Prepare and distribute agendas, confirm materials and decision topics are ready, track review status and actions, and support timely approvals.
  • Maintain complete, consistent, and traceable documentation and approval evidence in SIMS in accordance with GGB directives, process requirements, and audit-readiness standards.

Target Alignment Process (TAP) Coordination

  • Coordinate the annual TAP preparation process, establishing timelines and organizing pre-TAP and leadership reviews.
  • Align Sales, product-line, plant, Finance, champion, and leadership stakeholders and ensure analyses, risks, opportunities, forecast explanations, recommendations, and presentations are complete.
  • Maintain the working presentation, refresh approved reporting, facilitate reviews and dry runs, and close open actions before final leadership review.
  • Sales Process, Reporting, and Continuous Improvement
  • Provide recurring and ad hoc analysis of sales data, booking performance, forecast movements, pricing, and business win/loss trends.
  • Maintain standardized reports, dashboards, templates, and process documentation, and support audits of sales-process execution, approvals, and records.
  • Drive cross-functional process improvement by simplifying and standardizing practices, communicating decisions and requirements, and tracking actions to completion.

What We Are Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering, Data Analytics, or a related field.
  • Five or more years of experience in sales operations, commercial planning, business analysis, finance, or a comparable cross-functional role.
  • Strong analytical capability and advanced proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, and business reporting or dashboard tools.
  • Experience with CRM, sales planning, forecasting, or enterprise reporting systems; Salesforce and OneStream experience is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate complex processes, deadlines, and stakeholders without direct authority.
  • Strong attention to detail, data discipline, and ability to translate business information into clear leadership reporting.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, with confidence facilitating meetings and training users.
  • Working knowledge of automotive sales, pursuit, quotation, booking, and long-range planning processes is preferred.
