Lead Business Analyst - Oil & Gas

We are looking for an experienced Functional Consultant with a strong understanding of upstream Oil & Gas operations, particularly Well Management, Drilling and Production. The candidate will work closely with business stakeholders and technology teams to understand operational challenges, define business requirements and deliver functional solutions that support business objectives. The ideal candidate will combine hands-on Oil & Gas domain knowledge with functional consulting experience, enabling them to bridge the gap between business needs and technology solutions.

Responsibilities Engage with business stakeholders, including drilling engineers, production engineers, well operations teams and asset managers, to understand business processes and operational requirements Apply a strong understanding of well lifecycle management, well planning, well integrity, drilling operations and production workflows Gather and analyze business requirements, conduct fit-gap assessments, and translate requirements into functional specifications and solution designs Support the design, implementation, and enhancement of Oil & Gas applications covering Well Management, Drilling and Production Operations Collaborate with technical teams to ensure that functional requirements are accurately translated into technical solutions Assist with application configuration, functional testing, system integration testing, user acceptance testing, and deployment activities Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, streamline workflows, and enhance data quality and reporting Partner with business users and technical teams to troubleshoot functional issues and ensure timely resolution Prepare functional documentation, process flows, test scenarios, and user training materials Participate in stakeholder discussions, solution reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives Requirements 8–12 years of relevant experience in Oil & Gas, functional consulting, business analysis or application implementation Strong domain knowledge of upstream Oil & Gas operations, with expertise in one or more of the following: Well Management and Well Lifecycle Management, Drilling Operations and Performance Monitoring, Production Operations and Production Optimization Background in requirements gathering, business process mapping, fit-gap analysis, and functional solution design Experience working on Oil & Gas application implementation, enhancement, integration, or transformation projects Capability to engage effectively with business stakeholders and translate operational requirements into functional solutions Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication and stakeholder management skills Competency in working collaboratively with cross-functional business and technology teams English proficiency at an Upper-Intermediate level (B2) or higher Nice to have Familiarity with upstream Oil & Gas platforms or similar industry-specific systems Understanding of well data management, production reporting, and operational workflows India Opportunity to work on technical challenges that may impact across geographies Vast opportunities for self-development: online university, knowledge sharing opportunities globally, learning opportunities through external certifications Opportunity to share your ideas on international platforms Sponsored Tech Talks & Hackathons Unlimited access to LinkedIn learning solutions Possibility to relocate to any EPAM office for short and long-term projects Focused individual development Benefit package: Health benefits Retirement benefits Paid time off Flexible benefits Forums to explore beyond work passion (CSR, photography, painting, sports, etc.)
