Role Title:Engagement Manager, Personal Lines Analytics & AI

BU/Segment:Analytics & AI Services - Insurance

Location:London, United Kingdom (4 days a week in the office - hybrid working)

Employment Type:Permanent

Summary of the role

We are looking for an Engagement Manager to own analytics and AI engagements for UK personal lines insurers end to end, from shaping the opportunity and writing the proposal through to delivering production-grade solutions and growing the account.

This is a hands-on leadership role. You will be the trusted point of contact for client stakeholders, lead multi-disciplinary delivery teams, and bring enough technical depth in ML, GenAI and Agentic AI to make sound architecture decisions and challenge your teams.

Key responsibilities

Client & Account Leadership

  • Act as the senior day-to-day lead for one or more personal lines clients (motor, home, pet, travel), building relationships up to Director and C-suite level
  • Understand client priorities across the value chain (pricing, underwriting, claims, fraud, customer and distribution) and translate them into an analytics and AI roadmap
  • Identify and develop follow-on opportunities, owning account growth targets alongside the account leadership team

Pre-Sales & Solutioning

  • Lead discovery workshops and shape problem statements, hypotheses and business cases
  • Own proposals and SOWs end to end, covering solution architecture, delivery approach, team structure, infrastructure costing, commercials and ROI
  • Develop points of view, demos and accelerators that position the practice in the UK personal lines market

Delivery Ownership

  • Own the full delivery lifecycle across multiple concurrent engagements: discovery, design, build, deployment and value realisation
  • Govern scope, timelines, budget, quality, risks and resourcing using Agile delivery practices
  • Ensure solutions move beyond proof of concept into production, with appropriate MLOps / LLMOps, monitoring and human-in-the-loop controls
  • Track and report measurable business outcomes (e.g. loss ratio, leakage, cycle time, STP rates, fraud capture, customer outcomes)

Team Leadership

  • Lead and develop a cross-functional team of data scientists, AI engineers, data engineers and business analysts, across onshore and offshore locations
  • Mentor team members through structured reviews, knowledge sharing and hiring
  • Build reusable assets and best practices that scale across the practice

Qualifications and experience we consider essential

  • 10+ years in analytics, data science or AI, with at least 3–4 years leading client engagements or programmes
  • Strong insurance domain experience, ideally in personal lines (motor, home)
  • Proven track record of taking ML and AI solutions from concept into production with quantified business impact

Hands-on credibility across

  • Classical ML (GBMs, classification, propensity, time series, explainability)
  • GenAI and LLMs (RAG, document intelligence, copilots, summarisation, prompt and evaluation design)
  • Agentic AI frameworks (e.g. LangGraph, CrewAI, AutoGen) and tool orchestration
  • MLOps / LLMOps (MLflow, CI/CD, monitoring, deployment patterns such as blue-green and canary)
  • Cloud and data platforms (Azure, AWS or GCP; Databricks, Snowflake); Python, SQL, PySpark
  • Experience leading proposals, solution architecture and commercial estimation in a consulting or services environment
  • Confident communicator able to explain complex AI concepts to senior business stakeholders
  • Experience managing teams of 10+ people across multiple workstreams

Desirable

Prior work with UK or European insurers, MGAs or insurtechs

Familiarity with core insurance platforms (e.g. Guidewire) and industry data sources (e.g. CUE, IFB, telematics)

Experience building reusable AI accelerators or IP

Relevant certifications (cloud ML, GenAI, project management)

Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics or a related field
