Reporting to the Commercial FP&A leadership, this role provides hands-on exposure to corporate finance, commercial strategy, and business planning. The ideal candidate pairs strong data intellectual curiosity—a natural drive to dig into raw metrics, ask "why," and uncover underlying business trends—with practical experience in financial modeling to deliver actionable, visual insights to cross-functional stakeholders.
Essential Duties
Financial Modeling & Strategic Analysis
P&L & Margin Modeling: Support comprehensive financial analysis of the Commercial Roofing P&L, building and refining financial models to evaluate pricing, volume mix, raw material costs, and manufacturing/distribution impacts.
Forecasting & Planning: Assist in the annual planning process and forward-looking forecasts. Utilize financial models to project business impacts, mitigate risks, and highlight value-creation opportunities.
Deep-Dive Analytics: Conduct root-cause analysis on sales, profitability trends, and pricing variances to provide actionable insights for the commercial business.
Data Visualization & Operational Intelligence
Dashboarding: Act as a data visualization champion by utilizing Tableau and Excel to transform complex, multi-source financial data into automated, interactive dashboards for leadership and the field sales team.
KPI Tracking: Monitor commercial performance metrics and KPIs, synthesizing massive datasets into real-time visibility for pricing execution and sales growth strategies.
Storytelling with Data: Demonstrate the ability to simplify complex financial models and narratives for non-financial stakeholders, effectively influencing cross-functional leaders to take action based on visual data.
Data Intellectual Curiosity & Process Architecture
Proactive Exploration: Apply data intellectual curiosity to proactively audit commercial data streams (e.g., Salesforce, ERP systems), identifying anomalies and new sources of data needed for decision-making.
Process Improvement: Assist in creating procedures to enhance the efficient collection and organization of data across the Commercial function, streamlining weekly and monthly sales reporting routines.
System Troubleshooting: Gain an understanding of the organization’s reporting mechanisms, helping to troubleshoot data discrepancies and suggesting areas for system and workflow improvement.
