Summary of the role
The Digital Merchandising Analyst is responsible for optimising the Levi.com shopping journey across East Asia Pacific, driving conversion, sales and site performance through disciplined, data-led merchandising. The role leads the regional approach to product presentation, assortment visibility, site taxonomy, promotional merchandising and in-season trading actions, so that every market presents an accurate, compelling and commercially effective storefront.
Working from the Global Talent Hub in India, the role acts as the merchandising partner to country eCommerce teams. It translates market priorities, seasonal product direction and promotional plans into clear site-merchandising plans that Site Operations can execute, uses web analytics and consumer insight to identify opportunities and recommend trading actions, and standardises merchandising practice across markets with a mobile-first lens.
About the role
- Onsite merchandising and product presentation
- Own the sort order, filters, site taxonomy, product ranking and attribution standards that shape how consumers browse and find product on Levi.com.
- Define merchandising briefs for the homepage, collection, category and campaign pages, including product selection, visual merchandising and the application of marketing stories and themes.
- Review and approve merchandising content weekly, giving Site Operations complete, approved and traceable instructions for execution.
- Set catalogue-quality expectations so product data, imagery and attributes support search, filtering and conversion, and escalate gaps to the owning teams.
- Apply a mobile-first approach to layout, product ranking and category presentation, and review the live site regularly to catch issues and opportunities early.
- Promotional calendar and campaign merchandising
- Own and co-ordinate the EAP Levi.com promotional calendar, aligning market, marketing, merchandising and pricing inputs.
- Plan the merchandising of seasonal launches, campaign moments and promotional periods, including product selection, placement, sequencing and message alignment.
- Provide Site Operations with approved promotional specifications and timelines, and confirm readiness ahead of peak trading periods.
- Partner with Country eCommerce Leads, Marketing and Planning to align promotional mechanics, inventory availability and traffic plans, and recommend actions that balance sales with margin and brand objectives.
- Review promotional performance after each major event and share lessons to improve the next one.
- Performance analysis, trading actions and optimisation
- Monitor daily and weekly site performance, including traffic, conversion rate, average order value, units per transaction, sell-through and product-level productivity.
- Review site analytics to identify conversion and revenue opportunities, diagnosing performance by market, category, device and product.
- Recommend and execute timely in-season trading actions, such as re-ranking, re-merchandising, promotional emphasis and assortment visibility, in a fast-paced environment.
- Produce routine performance reporting and competitive analysis, and contribute merchandising insight to weekly and monthly business reviews.
- Define and track merchandising KPIs, using data to prioritise improvements and demonstrate impact.
- Merchandising strategy, assortment and seasonal planning
- Translate seasonal product direction, brand priorities and market strategies into pre-season site merchandising plans and category-level assortment plans for supported markets.
- Partner with Merchandising, Planning and Country eCommerce Leads to understand launches, key styles, inventory positions and local creation, and agree how each should be positioned online.
- Identify product-positioning opportunities and leverage the product portfolio to balance brand, gender, category and commercial goals.
- Conduct monthly and seasonal product and category analysis, feeding digital insights back to planning and buying teams to inform assortment and buying-structure decisions.
- Set the merchandising framework and targets for each market based on cluster strategy, flexing plans in season as demand, inventory and trading performance change.
- Site experience enhancement, testing and mobile-first innovation
- Identify and prioritise site enhancements based on data, consumer insight and market feedback, and contribute clear requirements to Digital Product and Engineering.
- Design and run A/B and personalisation tests on merchandising levers, such as sort logic, product cards, filters and recommendations, and scale what works.
- Contribute to front-end enhancement and bug-fixing priorities by documenting merchandising impact and acceptance criteria.
- Explore new merchandising capabilities, including personalisation, automation and approved AI tools, and build the business case for adoption.
- Track best practice and innovation in fashion eCommerce, particularly mobile, app and social commerce.
- Cross-functional partnership, standards and capability building
- Lead the regional merchandising practice, sharing best practice and consistent standards across markets while accommodating legitimate local needs.
- Document merchandising playbooks, checklists and templates, and agree clear hand-offs with Site Operations and Digital Content Experience.
- Coach and guide coordinators, junior merchandisers and agency resources on merchandising principles, tools and analysis.
- Communicate priorities, risks and performance clearly to eCommerce leadership and market stakeholders.
- Maintain effective working rhythms across EAP time zones so market teams receive responsive, reliable support.
