Senior Project Manager, Data Platform

Hyderabad, India In person Full-time

Senior Project Manager, Data Platform About the role We’re looking for a strong, assertive Project Manager to support a consumer data platform program built on a modern cloud lakehouse and AWS. This role will drive delivery of the consumer data foundation, including a canonical data model, consumer data warehouse, governed metrics, and shared data assets used by analytics, data science, risk, and finance teams. You will own day-to-day execution across multiple workstreams, keep teams moving at pace, and ensure priorities are clear, dependencies are managed, and decisions are made quickly.

You will work directly with product management, data engineering, data architecture, analytics, and business stakeholders to remove blockers and maintain momentum. This is a hands-on delivery role for someone who is comfortable operating with urgency, challenging assumptions, and pushing teams toward timely decisions and accountable execution. You should be able to speak credibly with technical teams on data platform concepts and AWS, while also holding business stakeholders accountable for clarity, prioritization, and responsiveness.

What you’ll do in your first 12 months Drive execution of the consumer data platform roadmap with a strong bias for speed, clarity, and outcome-based delivery. Keep multiple workstreams moving in parallel by actively managing milestones, dependencies, risks, decisions, and releases. Coordinate across product, engineering, architecture, analytics, risk, and finance teams to ensure delivery stays on track. Track delivery of critical platform initiatives such as canonical data modeling, data warehouse buildout, metric standardization, and data quality improvements.

Push for rapid resolution of blockers, open questions, and cross-team dependencies before they impact timelines. Maintain tight control over project plans, RAID logs, status updates, and stakeholder communications. Challenge engineering estimates and delivery schedules where assumptions are weak, scope is unclear, or dependencies are not fully accounted for. Push back on business stakeholders when requirements are incomplete, ambiguous, or not actionable, and insist on the clarity needed to move execution forward.

Ensure decisions are documented, actions are assigned, and follow-through happens quickly. Work with technical teams to understand AWS-based data platform components such as storage, compute, orchestration, pipelines, and access patterns. Help ensure solutions are tested, documented, and ready for adoption by downstream teams. Escalate risks early and decisively when timelines, quality, or scope are at risk. Required qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or equivalent practical experience. 10-12 years of project management or program coordination experience, preferably in data, technology, or platform delivery environments.

Experience working on data platforms, data warehouses, lakehouse environments, or enterprise data programs. Strong working knowledge of data platform concepts such as source-to-target mapping, data pipelines, data quality, metadata, data modeling, and reporting dependencies. Proven ability to coordinate technical teams and translate between business and engineering stakeholders without losing urgency or accountability.

Familiarity with AWS services used in data platform environments, such as S3, Glue, Redshift, Athena, EMR, Lambda, Step Functions, or related services. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple workstreams, deadlines, and stakeholders in a fast-moving environment. Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to deliver concise, high-signal updates and executive summaries. Demonstrated ability to challenge estimates and schedules in a structured, logical, and evidence-based way.

Demonstrated ability to push stakeholders to provide clear, complete, and actionable requirements before work begins. Comfortable operating with ambiguity while creating speed, structure, and accountability. Preferred qualifications Experience working in consumer finance, payments, fintech, or risk/data environments. Experience supporting delivery of canonical data models, shared metrics, or governed data products. Familiarity with Agile/Scrum delivery practices, Jira, Confluence, or similar project tracking tools.

Understanding of cloud data architectures on AWS, including ingestion, transformation, orchestration, access control, and monitoring. Ability to read or interpret SQL queries and engage effectively with analysts or data engineers on data validation issues. Experience driving delivery across distributed teams in a fast-paced, high-accountability environment. Strong bias toward action, decisive escalation, and relentless follow-through.
