M&E Group Reporting Accountant

Manchester, United Kingdom Hybrid Full-time

Workplace:Manchester + Hybrid

The team..

The Media & Entertainment (M&E) Finance team operates at the creative and commercial core of our broadcasting and streaming business. As our division shapes its future operational framework, our finance team is responsible for driving absolute financial integrity, managing complex group consolidations, and delivering insightful financial reporting under IFRS. Working in a collaborative, fast-paced environment, we partner closely with Tax, Treasury, FP&A, and operational teams, as well as external stakeholders under Transitional Services Agreements (TSAs), to ensure seamless corporate reporting.

The role..

We’re looking for an ambitious Media & Entertainment (M&E) Group Reporting Accountant to join our team on a permanent basis. This newly created, high-visibility role serves as a key driver in establishing our new financial reporting structure and designing robust, end-to-end accounting processes for the M&E division.

As the subject matter expert for M&E reporting and consolidation, you will play a pivotal role in implementing and running our monthly M&E consolidation in Oracle FCCS, preparing and analysing cash flow statements, reviewing group balance sheets, and supporting statutory accounting. This opportunity offers broad exposure to complex technical accounting (such as IFRS 16 lease modelling) alongside direct collaboration with senior cross-functional stakeholders.

Some of your key day-to-day responsibilities will include

  • Assisting in creating and implementing the monthly M&E consolidation process in Oracle FCCS.
  • Preparing the monthly M&E consolidation, all supporting schedules, and reporting packs for M&E senior leadership.
  • Preparing and analysing monthly M&E cash flow statements and reviewing/maintaining the M&E group-level balance sheet.
  • Preparing timely forecasts, budgets, and five-year plans for assigned areas.
  • Building and maintaining strong collaborative relationships across M&E Tax, Treasury, FP&A, and operational business teams.
  • Partnering closely with the ITV team providing financial information under a Transitional Services Agreement (TSA).
  • Supporting complex technical accounting areas, including IFRS 16 lease modeling and statutory account preparation.
  • Liaising with external auditors throughout year-end, and interim reporting cycles.
  • Delivering ad-hoc financial analysis, reporting support, and special projects as business needs evolve.

Skills you’ll need (minimum criteria)

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA or ACCA).
  • Hands-on experience with financial consolidation systems (e.g., Oracle FCCS, SAP, or similar).
  • Strong working knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
  • Other things we’re looking for (key criteria)
  • Strong influencing skills with a proven track record of building effective relationships with diverse cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint for financial modeling and executive reporting.
  • Experience collaborating with business partners to provide practical technical accounting guidance and support.
  • Proactive approach to identifying and driving continuous process and systems enhancements.
  • Alignment with core behaviours—Digital Mindset, Creativity & Innovation, Be Agile, Clarity & Pace, Collaboration, and Cultivating Resilience.

Potential Challenges

Extended working hours may be required during peak reporting periods, including month-end, half-year, and year-end close cycles.

Please note, on occasion we may receive a very large volume of applications which means applications for a role may close earlier than the referenced closing date. We’d encourage you to apply as soon as possible if interested.
