6 Dice Alternatives for Tech Jobs in 2026

Dice owns enterprise IT and contract, but misses startups and product roles. 6 alternatives ranked by coverage and alert speed, led by Sniper auto-apply.

Dice alternatives are worth a look if you are a tech worker tired of recruiter-heavy listings and want jobs from the employers themselves. The best one for most people is Scoutify, whose Sniper applies to new tech jobs on company career sites minutes after they post, followed by Wellfound for startups, HiringCafe for free searching, LinkedIn for networking, Indeed for breadth and Built In for tech jobs by city. Dice has served tech professionals since 1990 and is still a large tech-only board, citing 200,000+ jobs posted monthly and 8.2 million tech professionals, but much of what you see comes through staffing firms, its alerts arrive as batched emails, and you still apply one form at a time.

Short answer: for direct employer postings and automatic applications, use Scoutify's Sniper. For startups, use Wellfound. For a free board with strong filters, use HiringCafe. For networking, use LinkedIn. For the widest range of employers, use Indeed, and for tech jobs in one city, use Built In.

Why people leave Dice

Dice was built for IT hiring, and it shows: it is strong for contract and enterprise roles, and its site is aimed at employers and recruiters as much as candidates. If you want product companies, startups or AI labs, the results skew toward staffing and consulting postings, and the same role often appears several times under different agencies. Tech-only filtering is no longer unique either, since every large board has it. Our Dice review covers what it still does well.

1. Scoutify Sniper: direct postings, applied to within minutes

Scoutify watches 70,000+ company career pages, so its listings come from the employer rather than a recruiter repost, which removes the staffing agency noise that is Dice's most persistent problem. It covers the enterprise employers Dice covers well, plus the startups, AI companies and product companies that Dice underrepresents, and you can filter by role type, experience level, location, visa sponsorship and individual companies.

Sniper is what makes it more than a better board. When a new tech job that fits your filters goes up on a Workday, Greenhouse or SmartRecruiters career site, Sniper fills in the employer's real application with your resume and submits it, typically within minutes of the posting, and Ashby and Lever are rolling out now. It sends up to 500 applications a week, never applies to the same posting twice and never logs in to LinkedIn. Most applications get the employer's own confirmation email (68% from August 27 to September 25, 2026, with a median of 1.2 minutes after submission), and those confirmations and every reply land in Scoutify Mail. The first 25 applications are free, and after that Sniper costs $25 a week for up to 500 applications.

If you would rather apply yourself, Scoutify's real-time job alerts cost $5 a week and arrive typically 5 to 15 minutes after posting through native apps for iOS, Android, macOS and Windows, and browsing the board is free.

2. Wellfound: startup roles with equity up front

Wellfound lists startup roles and lets you message founders and hiring managers directly, which makes it the better fit if you want early-stage equity and small teams. If you are a software engineer interested in Series A to Series D companies, it gives you a curated catalog with equity information and salary ranges, and roles are posted by the companies themselves rather than staffing agencies. Funding stage, team size and investor names help you evaluate startups in a way Dice's generic company profiles do not. Its alerts come as batched emails, and our Wellfound alternatives guide covers where it falls short.

3. HiringCafe: free search with deep filters

HiringCafe collects jobs from employer career sites and filters by salary, experience and company stage, with no recruiter listings promoted. For Dice users frustrated by recruiter middlemen, that direct-to-employer approach is a large improvement. Its filters also cover location, remote work and company size, salary data is shown where available, and every listing links directly to the company's application page. Its email picks arrive hours after posting, and it does not apply for you.

4. LinkedIn: networking and referrals

LinkedIn is the place to find people at a company, and a referral often beats a cold application. Its tech job coverage now spans enterprise employers, startups and everything in between. Where Dice offers skill-based filtering, LinkedIn adds recruiter visibility, InMail and network referrals that can bypass the application process entirely, and a strong profile attracts inbound recruiter interest. Its job alerts are free but arrive 24 to 72 hours after posting, some staffing agencies are present, and Premium starts at $29.99 a month.

5. Indeed: breadth beyond tech

Indeed has the largest general listing pool and free alerts, and its tech listings exceed Dice's by a wide margin, from enterprise IT to startup roles and contract positions. Its staffing agency listings are similar to Dice's, but its direct employer listings are also more numerous, so expect to filter. Alerts typically arrive 12 to 48 hours after posting.

6. Built In: tech jobs by city

Built In lists 500K+ jobs at 100K+ companies and runs local sites for tech hubs such as New York, San Francisco, Chicago, Austin, Seattle and Boston. Most listings show a salary range, and company profiles cover benefits and culture, which makes it a good Dice alternative if you want product and startup roles in one city rather than enterprise contract work. It is free for job seekers, and you apply on each company's site yourself.

Which one to pick

Keep Dice if you want contract or enterprise IT work. Add Sniper if you want product-company roles applied to quickly, and LinkedIn for referrals. Most people do best with one fast tool and one networking tool rather than five boards.

The best Dice replacement depends on your biggest pain point. If slow alerts and staffing agency noise are your main frustrations, Scoutify solves both, with direct-employer jobs caught within minutes and applications submitted on the employer's site by Sniper. If you want the startup roles Dice undercovers, Wellfound fills that gap, and if you want a clean free search, HiringCafe delivers. For other tools that apply for you, see the best auto-apply tools.
