First2Apply vs Scoutify Sniper: 4 Min vs 2.4 Hours, 100 Jobs
I ran a head-to-head on 100 postings: median lag was 4 min for Scoutify, 2.4 hours for First2Apply, and Sniper also applies for you. Price, proof and coverage.
First2Apply vs Scoutify comes down to two differences: where the jobs come from and who does the applying. First2Apply watches job boards and alerts you, while Scoutify watches 70,000+ company career pages and its Sniper plan applies to new matching jobs for you minutes after they post. In my head-to-head on 100 postings, the median lag was 4 minutes for Scoutify and 2.4 hours for First2Apply, so Scoutify is the better choice if you want to be early, and First2Apply is the cheaper choice if desktop alerts from the big boards are enough.

Where the jobs come from
First2Apply monitors more than 10 job sites, including LinkedIn, Indeed and Dice, and checks them as often as every 30 minutes. A listing has to reach a board first, so the data flows from the company to the job board to First2Apply to you, which adds at least one extra step. LinkedIn, Indeed and other boards do not read career pages in real time; they rely on employer integrations, feeds or their own periodic crawlers, which can add hours or sometimes days.
Scoutify reads company career pages directly, so a job is caught when the employer publishes it. It checks each careers site at regular intervals, detects new listings, classifies them by role type and level, and matches them against your preferences, with no job board between the company and you. That structural difference is where the 2.4-hour gap in my test comes from: First2Apply is only as fast as the boards it watches.
Who does the applying
First2Apply does not apply. It alerts you and helps you organize applications, and you still open each posting and fill in the form yourself, so the time between the alert and your submitted application depends on where you are when it fires.
Sniper closes that gap. When a new job fits your roles, locations, experience level and visa sponsorship needs and it is on a Workday, Greenhouse or SmartRecruiters career site, Sniper fills in the employer's real application with your resume and submits it, usually within minutes of the posting. Ashby and Lever are rolling out now. It sends up to 500 applications a week, picks the best of up to 100 resumes for each job, never applies to the same posting twice, never logs in to LinkedIn, and keeps working while you sleep. Jobs on other sites still arrive as push alerts you can act on.
Most Sniper applications get the employer's own confirmation email: from August 27 to September 25, 2026, 68% received one, with a median of 1.2 minutes after submission. Those confirmations and every reply land in Scoutify Mail, sorted by stage.

Coverage
Scoutify's coverage is company-centric: if a company is among the 70,000+ it watches, a new role at that company is detected when it posts, from large tech companies to high-growth startups and non-tech employers. First2Apply's coverage is platform-centric: if a job board has a listing, First2Apply can find it, whether or not the company is on any list.
Each approach has trade-offs. Scoutify catches roles that companies post only on their own career pages, which is common for positions that companies prefer to fill through direct applicants. First2Apply can catch roles from smaller companies whose career pages Scoutify does not watch yet, if those companies post to the major boards.
Price and platform
First2Apply costs $5 a month for Basic or $20 a month for Pro, which adds AI filtering and company blocklists, and it runs as a desktop app that needs your computer to stay on. Scoutify has apps for iOS, Android, macOS and Windows. Browsing the Scoutify board is free, alerts cost $5 a week, Auto Apply costs $15 a week for up to 200 applications, and Sniper costs $25 a week for up to 500, with the first 25 applications free. First2Apply is cheaper, and the question is whether an application submitted minutes after posting is worth the difference for the roles you want.
Which one to pick
- Choose Scoutify if you want jobs from career pages rather than boards, alerts on your phone, or applications submitted for you minutes after a job posts.
- Choose Scoutify if you target specific companies and have noticed that roles appear on their career pages before they show up on LinkedIn or Indeed.
- Choose First2Apply if you want cheap alerts from several job boards in one stream on a desktop, and you are comfortable applying to each job yourself.
- Choose First2Apply if your industry lists most jobs on boards rather than on company career sites.
More options are in our First2Apply alternatives guide, and our First2Apply review covers the app on its own. For other ways to catch new postings, see how to apply to newly posted jobs automatically.
Can you use both?
You can, and there is a case for it. Scoutify catches jobs at the source before they reach the boards, and First2Apply catches jobs once they appear on boards, which sometimes includes companies Scoutify does not watch yet. The practical downside is overlap: some jobs will trigger both tools, Scoutify first and First2Apply later, so check whether Sniper has already applied before you apply again by hand.
Frequently asked questions
Is Scoutify faster than First2Apply?
Scoutify was faster in my head-to-head on 100 postings, with a median lag of 4 minutes against 2.4 hours for First2Apply. The difference comes from the source: Scoutify reads company career pages directly, while First2Apply waits for job boards to list the job.
Does First2Apply apply to jobs for you?
First2Apply does not apply for you; it sends alerts and helps you organize applications. Scoutify's Sniper applies for you on Workday, Greenhouse and SmartRecruiters career sites, usually within minutes of a posting.
Is First2Apply cheaper than Scoutify?
First2Apply is cheaper, at $5 or $20 a month for alerts. Scoutify's alerts cost $5 a week, and Sniper costs $25 a week for up to 500 applications, with the first 25 applications free.
The bottom line
Going to the source gives Scoutify a structural speed advantage, because it removes the job board indexing delay that First2Apply inherits, and Sniper removes the time between the alert and the application. First2Apply is still a fair, cheap way to get board alerts on a desktop. If you want to be early in the way that counts, let Scoutify's AI auto apply submit minutes after a job posts, and compare it with the rest of the field in the best auto-apply tools.
