5 First2Apply Alternatives That Are Actually First (2026)

First2Apply only alerts, with a 2.4-hour average lag. I timed 5 alternatives vs career pages: Scoutify hit a median of 4 minutes, and Sniper applies for you.

First2Apply promises to make you first, but it only sends alerts, so you are first to know and still have to apply yourself. The best First2Apply alternative is Scoutify, whose Sniper actually applies to new jobs minutes after they post on company career pages; if you want free alerts instead, HiringCafe, LinkedIn, Indeed and Welcome to the Jungle each cover a different need. When I timed First2Apply, it averaged a 2.4-hour lag, and when I timed five alternatives against career pages, Scoutify hit a median of 4 minutes.

Short answer: if you want to skip the manual step, Scoutify's Sniper applies to new matching jobs on company career sites for you. If you only want faster alerts, Scoutify's alerts ($5 a week) are the closest swap. If you want free tools, HiringCafe, LinkedIn and Indeed all send alerts at no cost, and Welcome to the Jungle sends curated matches.

Hearing about a job first is not the same as applying first

The name First2Apply describes the goal, but the product stops one step short of it. An alert tells you a job exists. You still have to see the notification, open the posting, fill in the employer's form and submit, and if the alert arrives while you are in class, at work or asleep, that can take hours. Being early only counts once your application is in the employer's system, so the honest comparison is between an alert and a submitted application.

I learned this during my second internship search. Scoutify's alerts were getting me to great jobs early, but the sheer volume of applications was exhausting, because I was filling out the same fields on Greenhouse and Workday over and over again, and I got tired of applying by hand. That fatigue is why we built Sniper, the part of Scoutify that submits the application for you.

That is why this list starts with the one alternative that applies for you, and then covers the alert tools that do First2Apply's job from better sources or for free. If you mainly want a way to find newly posted jobs, our guide on how to find and apply to newly posted jobs automatically covers the methods in more depth.

What First2Apply does, and where people outgrow it

First2Apply is a desktop app that monitors more than 10 job sites, including LinkedIn, Indeed and Dice, and checks them as often as every 30 minutes. On September 30, 2026, its site listed Basic at $5 a month and Pro at $20 a month, which adds company blocklists and AI filtering, with a 7-day free trial that needs no card. It runs on Windows, macOS and Linux, and it needs your computer to stay on while it monitors. It does not apply for you. Our First2Apply review covers the product in detail.

People move on for four reasons. First2Apply watches job boards, so it can only alert you after a listing has reached a board, which adds a lag that I measured at 2.4 hours on average. It has no phone app, so an alert can wait until you are back at your computer. It stops at the alert, so you still open each listing, tailor your answers and fill in the form. And its sources are the same crowded boards everyone else searches, while tools that watch company career pages directly see jobs before the boards do.

1. Scoutify: Sniper applies, and alerts arrive in minutes

Scoutify is AI job search that applies for you first, which makes it the only First2Apply alternative here that does what the name promises. It watches 70,000+ company career pages, and when a new job that matches your roles, locations, experience level and visa sponsorship needs goes up on a Workday, Greenhouse or SmartRecruiters career site, Sniper fills in the employer's real application with your resume and submits it, usually within minutes of the posting. Ashby and Lever are rolling out now. Sniper sends up to 500 applications a week, never applies to the same posting twice, never logs in to your LinkedIn account, and keeps working while you sleep.

You can check every application. Most get the employer's own confirmation email: from August 27 to September 25, 2026, 68% of Sniper applications received one, with a median of 1.2 minutes after submission, and those confirmations and every reply land in Scoutify Mail. Sniper costs $25 a week for up to 500 applications, Auto Apply costs $15 a week for up to 200, and your first 25 applications are free with no card.

If you like doing the applying yourself, Scoutify also sends instant job alerts from company career pages for $5 a week, as push notifications on iOS, Android, macOS and Windows and by email. Because Scoutify reads career pages directly instead of tracking board listings, it skips the delay between a company posting on its own site and the listing reaching job boards, and in my timing it hit a median of 4 minutes. Matching jobs on sites Sniper does not support also arrive this way. The trade-off is coverage: Scoutify focuses on professional roles at companies with real career sites, so jobs that only exist on job boards will not reach it.

2. HiringCafe: free search with deep filters

HiringCafe pulls jobs from employer career sites and lets you filter by salary, experience, company size and funding stage, and its search and saved searches are free. Every listing links to the employer's application page, and HiringCafe says it filters out recruiting agencies and does not sell placement. It does not apply for you, and its daily picks arrive on its schedule rather than within minutes, so it works best as a free way to browse roles outside your usual filters. Our HiringCafe alternatives guide covers where it stops.

3. LinkedIn job alerts: free, with recruiters attached

LinkedIn alerts are free and cover every industry, and they come with recruiter visibility and Easy Apply on roles that support it. Popular LinkedIn listings draw hundreds of applicants quickly, and its alerts typically arrive 24 to 72 hours after the original posting, so it is not the tool for being first. What LinkedIn adds is networking: messages, referrals and a profile that brings recruiters to you even when you are not searching. Premium starts at $29.99 a month.

4. Indeed job alerts: the widest range of employers

Indeed has the largest listing count and free email and app alerts across every industry, location and experience level. Its alerts typically arrive 12 to 48 hours after the original career page posting, and you should expect some staffing agency and repeated listings. It works well as a wide net next to a faster tool, especially for hourly and local jobs that never appear on a company career site.

5. Welcome to the Jungle (formerly Otta): curated matches instead of speed

Welcome to the Jungle, which absorbed Otta in January 2024, matches you with startup and tech roles based on a detailed profile. Instead of alerting you to new postings as they appear, it curates batches of roles that fit your preferences for role type, company stage, values and compensation. That trades speed for relevance, because you will not see roles the moment they post, but the ones you see are already filtered. It is free, it is strong in the US and UK, and it delivers matches by email and in the app. See our Otta review.
