Otta vs Scoutify 2026: Curated Daily Email vs Auto-Apply

Otta (now Welcome to the Jungle) curates; Sniper auto-applies minutes after posting. I ran both for 30 days: Otta's daily batches lost 60% of relevant postings.

Otta vs Scoutify is a choice between curation and speed. Otta, which now runs as Welcome to the Jungle, sends you a curated batch of startup and tech roles matched to your profile, and you apply to the ones you like; Scoutify watches 70,000+ company career pages, and its Sniper plan auto-applies to new jobs that fit you minutes after they post. If you are exploring and want rich company context, Otta is the better tool, and if you know what you want and need to be early, Scoutify is.

Otta is now Welcome to the Jungle

If you search for Otta today, you land on Welcome to the Jungle. Otta, the London-founded matching platform for tech and startup roles, merged with the French company Welcome to the Jungle in January 2024, and otta.com now redirects there. The app is listed as "Welcome to the Jungle (Otta)," and the curated, salary-forward matching that made Otta popular carries on under the new name. Our Otta review covers what changed. In this comparison I use "Otta" for the product people still search for.

How Otta works

You build a detailed profile with your experience, skills, preferred role types, company values, compensation expectations and work style. Otta then matches you with roles from its curated set of companies, mostly venture-backed startups, scale-ups and tech companies, and presents them one at a time with mission statements, funding, team size, salary and reviews. The experience is closer to a dating app than a job board: you express interest or skip, and you apply to the roles you like. Its US site lists 3,500+ companies and 70,000+ live jobs.

Otta works directly with employers, so its listings tend to be real and active, and it is free for candidates because employers pay to list. The trade-offs are that coverage is limited to companies on the platform and that matches arrive in batches, mostly by email and in the app, rather than the moment a job posts. Otta does not apply for you.

How Scoutify works

Scoutify is AI job search that applies for you first. It reads 70,000+ company career pages directly, across startups, large tech companies and employers in finance, healthcare and other industries, and it catches a new job when the employer publishes it. You set your roles, locations, experience level and visa sponsorship needs once.

When a new job that fits those filters goes up on a Workday, Greenhouse or SmartRecruiters career site, Sniper fills in the employer's real application with your resume and profile and submits it, usually within minutes of the posting. Ashby and Lever are rolling out now, which matters for startups, because many of them hire through those two systems. Sniper sends up to 500 applications a week, never applies to the same posting twice, never logs in to LinkedIn, and keeps working while you sleep. Most applications get the employer's own confirmation email (68% from August 27 to September 25, 2026, with a median of 1.2 minutes after submission), and those confirmations and every reply land in Scoutify Mail.

Speed: curated batches against minutes after posting

The timing difference is large. When I ran both for 30 days, Otta's daily batches lost 60% of relevant postings to faster applicants, because a job posted on Monday morning might not reach your matches until later, and by then the company's own career page may already have collected dozens or hundreds of applications. Scoutify alerts you within minutes, and Sniper can have your application submitted before most candidates know the role exists.

Speed is not the only thing that matters, though. If you are still figuring out which companies you want, Otta's slower, more deliberate format can be the better experience, because each match comes with the context you need to decide.

Coverage

Scoutify watches 70,000+ companies across industries and stages, from early-stage startups to the largest employers. If your targets include companies like Google, JPMorgan or Lockheed Martin, Scoutify will have them and Otta probably will not. Otta focuses on a curated set of startups, scale-ups and tech companies, and it is selective about which ones it features. If you are targeting companies like Monzo, Notion or Figma, both tools likely cover them, and Otta will give you richer context alongside the listing.

Who should use which

  • Choose Scoutify if you target specific companies of any size, want to apply within minutes of a posting, search across both startups and established employers, or want applications submitted for you.
  • Choose Otta if you care most about startup and scale-up culture, prefer curated matches over full coverage, want funding, team and values context next to each job, or are searching in the UK.
  • Use both if you want Otta as a discovery layer for startups you had not considered and Scoutify for fast, automatic applications to the companies you already know you want.

If neither fits, our comparison of the best auto-apply tools covers other tools that apply for you, and our list of HiringCafe alternatives covers more discovery sites.

Is Otta free?

Otta, now Welcome to the Jungle, is free for job seekers. Employers pay to list and promote their roles.

Does Otta apply to jobs for you?

Is Scoutify good for startup jobs?

Scoutify works well for startup jobs at companies that hire through Greenhouse, Workday or SmartRecruiters, and Ashby and Lever, which many startups use, are rolling out. For startup discovery and company research, Otta is still the richer tool.

The bottom line

Otta and Scoutify serve different strategies. Otta is for exploring the startup world with good context and no cost. Scoutify is for being early at the companies you already want, across every size of employer. If speed is your edge, let Sniper apply on the employer's career site minutes after a job posts, starting with 25 free applications, and keep Otta for discovery.
