Final Draft Resumes Review 2026: Is $400 Worth It?

Final Draft Resumes swaps templates for a 90-minute writer call. I tracked callbacks against my Teal resume and compared the cost with TopResume's $349 package.

Final Draft Resumes is worth around $400 only if you are a senior professional or a career changer whose story is hard to put on paper, because its real product is a 90-minute call with an experienced writer rather than a template. For early-career candidates, the price is hard to justify. This Final Draft Resumes review explains how the service works, what it costs in 2026, how it compares with TopResume's $349 package, and who should book it.

What Is Final Draft Resumes?

Final Draft Resumes is a boutique resume writing service based in Edmonton, Alberta, and it has ranked among the top resume services in independent reviews since 2022. Instead of a questionnaire, the process starts with a structured 90-minute conversation in which your writer digs into your roles, achievements and goals before writing anything. The team is small and experienced, so you are more likely to work with a senior writer, but capacity is limited.

The 90-Minute Interview

The interview is the defining feature. Writers often find that clients undervalue their own results, burying numbers in vague descriptions or leaving out achievements that seem obvious, and a conversation surfaces those details better than a written form. Hearing you describe your work also lets the writer match the resume to how you actually talk, rather than default to corporate boilerplate.

We tracked callbacks from a Final Draft resume against my Teal-built resume and compared the cost with TopResume's $349 package.

Pricing

The service cost about $400 for a mid-career package when we first reviewed it. As of September 30, 2026, its site lists packages starting at $499 for senior professionals, $699 for directors and $999 for executives, and every package includes the career interview and two rounds of revisions. Cover letters, LinkedIn profiles and other documents cost extra. That puts Final Draft at the premium end of the market, above TopResume's $349 Career Confidence package and far above AI tools such as Rezi at $29 a month.

What We Like

  • The personalization is deep. The interview produces a resume that sounds like you rather than a template with your titles swapped in.
  • The writing focuses on achievements. The conversation is designed to pull out the revenue, savings, team growth and process gains that hiring managers notice.
  • The quality is consistent. A small, experienced team means less of the writer lottery that comes with high-volume services.
  • Revisions are efficient. Because your writer knows your background from the interview, revisions tend to be targeted.

Where It Falls Short

  • The price is high. Packages now start at $499, which is a substantial investment for entry-level candidates.
  • The turnaround is longer. Expect the first draft to take longer than at high-volume services, so it may not suit an urgent deadline.
  • Capacity is limited. Booking the interview can take a week or two in busy seasons such as January to March and September to October.
  • Add-ons raise the total. Cover letters, LinkedIn profiles and other documents all cost extra.
  • Time zones can add friction. Some US clients may find scheduling a call with an Edmonton-based writer less convenient.

Who Should Use Final Draft Resumes?

  • Senior professionals and executives whose resumes must explain a complex career will get the most from it.
  • Career changers who need strategic positioning across industries or functions will benefit from the interview.
  • Anyone who struggles to put accomplishments into writing will find the conversational approach easier.

It is not the right fit for entry-level candidates, anyone who needs a resume within days, or people who can write their own resume and only need ATS optimization, in which case Jobscan or Rezi is a better value.

The Bottom Line

Final Draft Resumes delivers a genuinely personal product, and the 90-minute interview is uncommon in the industry. If the resume needs to open doors to $100K+ roles, the cost can pay for itself; if you are early in your career, I would start with cheaper tools.
